For my second attempt at lip balm, I tried a recipe with several more ingredients than my first one. The results are smooth and silky, so I’ve named it “Lip Butter”.
I gave this one to my mom and a few friends to test out. All the ladies LOVED the smooth, glossy feel!
Here’s how it works:
Ingredients:
- 2 tsp of Beeswax
- 2 tsp Coconut Oil
- 3 tsp Olive Oil
- 2 tsp Cacao Butter
- 1 tsp Shea Butter
- 10-15 drops of the Essential Oil of your choice (I love lavender!)
- Tins/Tubes of your choice
Steps:
- Mix all the ingredients in a double boiler. I like to use my glass measuring cup because it is easy to pour from! Alternatively you can use the microwave in 30 second increments.
- Once all the ingredients are melted (the beeswax is usually last) and mixed together, remove from heat.
- Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil and pour into your tubes/tins!
This is a pretty small recipe (only about 4 tubes), so if you want to increase it, use tablespoons instead of teaspoons!
